Course Information
Domestic Students
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. At Unified Quality Training, we have set recommendations in place for students. These are:
- Minimum age: 18-years of age or older (students must provide a current ID upon enrolment)
- Students are required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment.
- Students must have access to a reliable Wi-Fi connect and laptop/computer
Students must perform the activities outlined in the performance criteria of this unit during a period of at least 120 hours of direct support work in at least one aged care, home and community, disability, or community service organisation.
There must be demonstrated evidence that the student has safely supported at least 3 people to enhance independence and wellbeing.
- As health and disability is a mandated industry, students undertaking Workplace Placement must hold the following prior to commencing Placement:
- You must complete your online NDIS Worker Screening Clearance application
- Police Clearance
- Immunisation records: Students will need to be immunised, or in the process of being vaccinated, for the following diseases:
- annual seasonal influenza, Hepatitis B, MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella), Pertussis (Whooping cough).
COVID-19 Some facilities may also mandate the number of vaccinations required. These requirements will be provided to the student, prior to arrangements being made for the completion of placement. Please note: Vaccination and screening/testing evidence requirements may alter during your studies, in accordance with changes to industry requirements and/or Australian Immunisation Guidelines.
- Students must have access to their own laptop and access to reliable Wi-Fi for the duration of your course.
- Students must have access to Microsoft suite including (word, excel and outlook).
Students must wear black pants, a polo shirt and enclosed shoes during their work placement. Some facilities may have additional uniform requirements.
The expected duration of this course is over a 28-week period, which includes 120 hours of work placement. Students will be expected to complete weekly online study. Students will have the option to attend practical training 1 day a week over the duration of their course, or a 1 week intensive practical block towards the end of their study.

This course is a blended model of online and face to face training.
Face to face sessions at: 6 Claret Street, Carseldine QLD 4034 and other training locations coming soon.
Students will also be required to complete a practical placement component of at least 120 hours within an approved community and/or residential setting.

After achieving this qualification, possible job roles may include:
- Support worker

Offshore Students (not currently in Australia)
Course requirements
- Completion of high school or equivalent.
Relevant industry experience. - English proficiency of at least IELTS 5.5.
- Valid passport
- Relevant aged care or disability care experienced is highly recommended. Experienced carers and nurses are encouraged to apply
Visa requirements:
- Relevant AQF Certificate III or higher
qualification, or 12 months relevant
experience. - English proficiency of at least IELTS 5.0.
- Students must have access to their own laptop and access to reliable Wi-Fi for the duration of your course.
- Students must have access to Microsoft suite including (word, excel and outlook).
Students must wear black pants, a polo shirt and enclosed shoes during their work placement. Some facilities may have additional uniform requirements.
Domestic students are those currently residing in Australia. Unified Quality Training offers training to residents and non-residents (dependent upon visa requirements). Offshore students are those currently not living in Australia. If you are an offshore student, you will be completing your studies in your home country.
The expected duration of this course is over a 29-week period, which includes 120 hours of work placement. Students will be expected to complete weekly online study. Students will complete online, distanced study, followed by a 1 week intensive practical block towards the end of their study.

UQT, in partnership with recruiters and aged care facilities, helps students secure Australian employers for work sponsorship. These opportunities are available to onshore students and offshore students. With the new Aged Care Labour Agreement, work sponsorship now provides a direct pathway to permanent residency. Registered nurses from the Philippines also have the opportunity to progress to further training with us, and progress to Registered Nurse status in Australia through the Outcome Based Assessment pathway.
